BRINGING THE KING OF ROCK'N'ROLL BACK TO LIFE

Layered Reality, renowned for immersive experiences, is going big with "Elvis Evolution," a multi-sensory journey set to open in London's Docklands in May 2025. As presale tickets launched, Hey! What? took charge of the 360-degree teaser campaign, rolling it out across press, social, and out-of-home platforms, including the iconic Outernet site in the West End, and marking our first prime-time TV campaign.

  • THE CHALLENGE: CREATING AN UNFORGETTABLE CAMPAIGN IN A SEA OF ELVIS TRIBUTES

    We’ve partnered with some major names in music, but is there anyone bigger than Elvis? We felt the stakes when pitching to Layered Reality, and this was a campaign we knew we had to win. With the Elvis Evolution site still under construction when tickets went live, our challenge was clear: to capture Elvis's unmistakable identity in a way that felt bold and instantly recognisable—without revealing too much about the forthcoming experience.

    THE OUTCOME: KEEP IT SIMPLE, MAKE IT BOLD, MAKE IT CLEVER

    To create buzz for this one-of-a-kind attraction, we reimagined iconic Elvis imagery, bringing it to life with 3D renderings of his unmistakable glasses and microphone, combined with strategic copy that hinted at the immersive experience to come. This simple, powerful design allowed the iconography and language to do the heavy lifting.

    For the TV commercial, we brought our campaign visuals to life, interweaving them with clips from Elvis's legendary 1968 Comeback Special, set to two of his most recognisable tracks. Originally, we proposed using Ed Sullivan’s iconic intro alongside live crowd chants from "Aloha from Hawaii." Licensing restrictions led us to a new creative solution: we recreated Sullivan's voice with AI and recorded the chant ourselves, using our team at Hey! What? and Duchess.

    Our campaign’s moment in the spotlight came at London’s Outernet, where we displayed our creative on three massive screens. For this high-impact space, we developed a 3D anamorphic animation that appeared to leap out of the screens, ensuring that every passerby experienced the intensity of "Elvis Evolution."

    Working with the music, imagery, and legacy of Elvis was an honour, and we were thrilled to partner with Layered Reality, Sold Out, The Mill, Outernet, and Muse Creative on this unforgettable integrated campaign.
